Cheif Executive

Andrew Wood

Hello! After achieving a BSc and an MA from Warwick University, I joined Price Waterhouse and became a chartered accountant in 1997. The built environment always held a strong affinity for me, so I became FD of a maintenance company in Bristol. After meeting my future wife we relocated to Kent in 2001 and had our twins in 2006. My career continued as FD for a fit-out contractor, a specialist-roofing contractor and a construction logistics firm. In 2013 I joined DMA, a Group with both a distinguished history and an exciting future. I still get huge enjoyment from building a great team, living our Values and driving towards our Vision.

Outside of work, I love boxing and jiu-jitsu and attending the myriad of sporting events that the kids are involved in.

I look forward to working with you to forge a long-term partnership and to achieve some Great Results together.

Chief Technology Officer

Andy Cook

My career in IT started at the tender age of 8 with an unpaid internship helping my junior school teachers load programmes onto the school’s new BBC Micro.

A long while later, I joined the financial technology industry after university and subsequent spent more than 20 years working for investment banks in City of London: 6 years at UBS as a development lead, 7 years at Citi running the technology platforms that support the hedge fund industry and 7 more years at Deutsche Bank managing increasingly large-scale regulatory programmes.

I’m now relishing the opportunity to apply everything I’ve learned to a whole new industry as part of a company with a clear desire to be the most technologically advanced in their sector.

Outside work I apply my slightly obsessive nature to a wide range of activities, from baking bread through to martial arts.

Technical Services Director

Rob Tate

Having qualified as an electrical engineer at the MoD’s Chatham Naval base, I joined what is now EE as a start-up to design, construct and maintain their new mobile phone network and then set up their corporate customer care team, providing helpdesk and technical advice to their large national and international customers, supported by a field-based team. More recently as Operations Director for Capita, I led large, complex PFI/PPP deals delivering total FM services including the Army Foundation College in North Yorkshire and numerous other UK-wide PFI contracts. My teams and my customers have always been at the heart of decision making, ensuring we maintain absolute focus on the customer service experience.

I’m married to Julie and we have two grown up lads. We’re all long-suffering supporters of Newcastle FC, proof that you can take the boy out of the North East but you can’t take the North East out of the boy. At DMA I’m proud that we use all of our experience to ensure that we have great people, delivering great service to achieve great results.

Finance Director

Gary Danilewicz

Ya-sas! After relocating to Kent in 1990, I began my accounting career having received a CIMA Stage 1 Home Study pack for my 21st birthday – I did ask for it by the way! I’ve worked in various sectors including meat packing, a global fruit and veg importer, distribution and logistics to finally settle with Denne Group 1999. I still assist all areas of the Group, but over the years my role has expanded into the development of our IT and technology.

Having met Kalli in 2005, we enjoy spending time in her home country of Greece to catch up with friends and family. Closer to home, the stresses of work are washed away with dinghy racing off Herne Bay, bike rides and watching rugby in Cardiff as it’s easier to get tickets there than at Twickenham! My father and uncle set-up a successful vineyard and of course, we all had to pitch in. Many awards later, the vineyard was sold and I now have to pay full price for wine!

Energy Services Director

Kevin Mcguane

Hi,

Having started out as a ductwork fitter with various mid-sized companies, I progressed to become a supervisor. Following that, I joined a large national M&E contractor to supervise their large mechanical services projects. My career continued to progress until joining DMA as a project manager in 2014.

Since then, I’ve led a team of great project managers to deliver an exciting mix of medium-to-large MEP projects as well as building our energy services capability to support our customers net zero objectives. Via our initial energy audits, we prioritise renewable solutions that we then design and install to save energy and cut carbon.

I’m proud to be supporting our team and our customers to achieve their net zero objectives.

Outside of work I’m married with 2 teenage children. My wife Anna and I spend a lot of our free time running our daughter around the country as she represents GB as an archer.

Customer Experience Director

Rob Ware

Hi there,

My building services career started in 2008 when an opportunity presented itself to become an Air Conditioning installation engineer. In 2011, I qualified as an AC and Refrigeration engineer and worked as a sole trader for 3 years, during which time I worked with, and finally joined DMA. I progressed to become a Contract Manager after having spent time supervising and delivering installation projects.

During this period I developed my skills in mechanical design and build, project and commercial management and achieved a HNC in Building Services Engineering in 2016. An opportunity to join DMA’s maintenance business provided me with further opportunities for both personal and career progression. As the Account Director, I primarily led service delivery and growth with our existing maintenance customers. The success of building stronger customer relationships and strong referrals, also led to new business growth. Progressing through the business and experiencing every part of our operations along the way, is a source of extreme pride for me.

The skills and responsibility of operating and leading customer accounts provided me with a natural move into more sales and mobilisation roles within the business. My time at DMA so far has allowed me to understanding all parts of our business and now as the Customer Experience Director, I can support our customers on every step of their journey.

In my spare time, as well as enjoying watching most sports (as my knees won’t let me play anymore!), I keep myself fit with running, training and mountain biking. I’m married with 3 children, all girls, who all keep me very busy.

Managing Director

Steve McGregor

Hi! My professional career started in 1979 at the MoD’s Chatham and Plymouth Naval bases where I qualified in electrical engineering. After various roles in M+E design, installation and maintenance, I then founded an engineering design consultancy in Kent. After 23 years of living or working abroad, I now live in York (at weekends) with my wife Tina and we have two grown-up daughters. In 1999, I began leading the development of large FM businesses, including 12 years with Compass Group Plc, leading the diversified growth of their UK and international businesses. This included twice winning a 7 year, 40 country FM deal with Shell Real Estate. Prior to joining DMA in February 2016, I was National & International Sales Director with Cofely, now Engie.

Outside of work, I love travel, skiing and long distance walking. I am a life-long Arsenal FC supporter, and maybe one of these days we may just…..but in the meantime I look forward to inspiring our people to meet the needs of your business.

Sales & Marketing Director

Valerie Miller

Hello!

I am extremely excited to be part of this dynamic team of professionals who want to change the UK maintenance industry, for good. This bold statement is right up my street! I am massively passionate about the FM industry, and I want to use my experience to inspire, educate and drive customers to think differently.

My career in Facilities Management spans 22 years starting out as a facilities helpdesk operator for Ernst and Young, quickly progressing to Helpdesk Manager and then into Customer Interface roles. I have spent the majority of my career up to now (19 years) at Bellrock Property and Facilities Management where for the first half of my career I focused on operational delivery. This included mobilisation, due diligence, contract management and central support, working with mixture of public and private sector clients, as well as high-profile contracts with HM Treasury, HM Revenue and Customs and Department for Education. This provided a sound foundation to move into sales, designing operational lead solutions. From 2012, I worked as a Business Development Director specialising in the Education sector, then in 2018 I was promoted to Group Sales and Marketing Director where I sat on the Management Board, responsible for a team of 28. During my tenure, the team made significant contributions to Bellrock’s growth leading to a successful business exit contributing to 4x EBITDA growth during the ownership period.

On a personal level I am mum to Eva and Sam. I’ve recently taken up the very frustrating game of golf! Finding the only things keeping me going is the Mars bar at the 9th hole and the promise of a pint at the 19th hole! I’m also a keen snowboarder but if I’m honest I think I prefer a sun holiday!!!!

Commercial Director

Colin Callow

Hi!

After turning down the opportunity to work in the banking sector, I’ve spent over 40 years in the construction industry with national contractors. Having started my career as a trainee surveyor in 1973, I reached board level at the age of 30 and have remained there for the past 35 years, including 5 years as a Managing Director.

Whilst my passion has always been within the commercial discipline, over the years I have taken great delight in working as part of a number of teams to deliver exceptional results for customers in a variety of sectors. I was delighted to be invited to join the DMA team in 2015 and to be a part of our exciting drive to achieve our vision. It’s been exciting to be a part of such a positive, progressive, innovative, can-do attitude that exists across the entire DMA team in the delivery of our customers’ needs.

Outside of work I am married to Lynne and have 4 sons and 6 grandchildren (so far!). I love travel and watching all sport and in particular a passion for following the unparalleled success of Manchester United, having been born in Bournemouth, a little town just outside of Manchester!!

Operations Director

Wendy Bennett

Hi,

Having spent 22 years working with premium shower manufacturer Aqualisa, customer service has been the mainstay of my career. I began as their first female technical advisor and those formative years taught me a great deal about what customer service excellence looked like in practice, and at the tender age of 21 it widened my lexicon in ways I would never have appreciated!

Designing, building and then running their first aftersales service team was a source of particular personal pride. Not only because it became a multi-million pound business in its own right, but because the reputation my team achieved and the great service they offered our customers enabled us to enter The Times awards for best UK companies for customer experience.

Evidencing that excellent customer service and aftersales is not exclusive to any one sector, I was then invited to join the world of high-street fashion retail with TM Lewin. As their first Customer Service Director I restructured the contact centre team and introduced service metrics that doubled corporate sales. Sadly TM Lewin didn’t survive the pandemic, but out of that adversity I now find myself working with an exceptionally gifted and highly motivated team of people at DMA, who intend smashing the traditional UK building maintenance industry powered by smart technology and process automation.

Projects & Engineering Director

Ian McGregor

Hi,

Since completing my electrical apprenticeship and HNC, I’ve spent most of the last 30 years in project management and leadership roles within the built environment and across a variety of sectors, primarily in London and the South, but with some specific activities across the UK. Most notably, as a result of setting up and managing a large scale mechanical, electrical, building & civil engineering agreement at one of our most strategically important NATO/MoD air bases, I relocated to Scotland for the duration.

Since joining DMA in 2018, I’ve led a team of great project managers to deliver an exciting mix of medium-to-large projects within occupied buildings, including schools, colleges, universities, hospitals, specialist laboratories, hotels and offices. Working in live environments always presents challenges, but I’m really proud to say that our unwavering focus on customer and stakeholder engagement, regular communications, skilled risk management, progressive collaboration and flexibility has combined to minimise disruption and ensure that all of our project targets and milestones were achieved.

As a qualified building services and electrical engineer, I’m pleased to support our wider team and our customers with detailed projects and engineering advice and support when they need it.

Outside of work I am married with 2 grown up sons, and a granddaughter – who keeps us on our toes and already calls the shots! My wife Sarah and I also run a Sunday League football club, which embraces our mutual love of football (i.e. Everton and Arsenal FC’s respectively) and being outdoors.
